About this pattern
Soft Willow Sweater is an oversized sweater knitted from the top down. The sweater is knit with cables from charts. First you form the back piece using short rows. then you continue knitting until you reach the underarm. The front is picked up at the shoulders and short rows are used for shoulder shaping. When the front and back pieces are at the same length you join in the round for the rest of the body. The body is finished with a broad 1x1 rib. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves and knit in the round and lastly the stitches for the collar are picked up and knit in a 1x1 folded rib.
Needles: Circular needle 4,5 mm (40 cm, 60 cm and 80/100 cm) [US7, (16, 24, 32 and 32/40 inches)], Circular needle 3,5 mm (40 and 80/100 cm og 40 cm) [US4 (16 and 32/40 inches)] and double pointed needles 3,5 mm [US4]
Gauge: 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] = 21 sts x 24 rows with needle 4,5 mm [US7] in texture knit after washing and blocking the swatch. (10 cm [4 inches] = 17 sts on needle 4,5 mm [US7] in stockinette knit after washing and blocking the swatch.)
